We are delighted to announce that Fire Safe Services Ltd is now an accredited Living Wage Employer This means that every member of staff working for Fire Safe will earn a real Living Wage and demonstrates our total commitment to our team and their wellbeing.
Over 4,700 organisations across the UK, including now Fire Safe Services, voluntarily choose to pay the real Living Wage because we believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. The real Living Wage is higher than the Government’s minimum or National Living Wage, and is an independently calculated hourly rate of pay that is based on the actual, current cost of living. It is calculated each year and is announced by the Living Wage Foundation as part of Living Wage Week. It is currently £9.00 per hour in the UK, with a higher rate of £10.55 for London, reflecting the higher costs of living in the capital.
Fire Safe Services Managing Director Nick Fenton says: “This commitment applies not only to our directly employed staff but also to our third party contracted staff. Fire Safe has ensured that we pay and indeed have a plan in place to ensure that all our third party contracted staff, such as our sub contract engineers, suppliers and cleaners, are paid the real Living Wage. We are really proud of this commitment to our team who are vital in the success of Fire Safe Services.”
